Route Description for Templeton to Baldwin Loop
Combining Templeton and Baldwin Trails gives hikers and mountain bikers the chance to enjoy two popular, scenic routes in one go. This route is suitable for all ages and all skill levels and offers awesome views. You’ll be right next to Cathedral Rock for a stretch on this route, which is one of Sedona’s top points of interest.
This hike is not in the shade, and Sedona can get quite hot in the summertime. We recommend bringing more water than you think you might need and packing a hat and sunscreen if you’re visiting on a hot day. There’s no water available on this trail. You should also plan to arrive at the trailhead as early as you can, as the two small lots that service it often fill by 8 AM.
Beginning from the trailhead, take Cathedral Rock Trail to Templeton Trail, where you’ll turn right. Hike along the base of Cathedral Rock to the junction with Baldwin Trail. Go straight here, looping the rock feature beside Cathedral Rock. When you’re in between the two features and meet up with Templeton Trail again, take a right. Retrace your steps from here to return to the trailhead.
