Itinerary for Bangalore and Hoysala Temples Tour

Day 1

Arrive in Bangalore

Overnight Location - Hotel in Bangalore | Meals - None

Meet and greet a tour representative and transfer to your hotel in Bangalore. Admire how both modern life and technology intertwine with ancient architecture here!

Day 2

Explore Bangalore

Overnight Location - Hotel in Mysore | Meals - Breakfast

Enjoy a relaxing morning and a delicious breakfast before heading out on a half-day sightseeing tour of Bangalore. Expect to visit the Bangalore Fort, Bull Temple, Cubbon Park, Lal Bagh, and Vidhana Soudha. After viewing these stunning, historical sights, hop in a car and transfer to Mysore, stopping at Somanathpura en route. Admire the 13th-century Hoysala-built Chennakesava Temple. Upon arrival in Mysore, notice the collection of palaces, try some sweetmeat, and marvel at the sandalwood carvings.

Day 3

Sightseeing around Mysore

Enjoy breakfast before heading out on a sightseeing tour around Mysore. Check out an abundance of historical, noteworthy sights. First up is Mysore Palace, one of the largest of its kind in India. Then, it’s off to Jaganmohan Palace, a converted 19th-century art gallery. You’ll see Chamundi Hill, a 12th-century relic. Then, it’s on to St. Philomena's Church, a beautiful Gothic spectacle. Finally, you’ll take in the 60 acres of the Vrindavan Gardens and Ranganathaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Day 4

Journey to Hassan

Overnight Location - Hotel in Hassan | Meals - Breakfast

Begin your journey to Hassan after you check out of your hotel. En route, stop at two towns that boast remarkable remains of Hoysala architecture: Halebid and Belur. Feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you meander through these towns. Admire the regal Kedareswara temple in Halebid, exquisite in its carvings. Then, see the renowned Chennakeshava temple in Belur, one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. Continue with your drive to Hassan and enjoy a relaxing night in your hotel.

Day 5

Visit Shravanabelagola and Kaidala

Overnight Location - None | Meals - Breakfast

Eat a delicious breakfast before beginning your drive back to Bangalore. Break up your drive with stops at Shravanabelagola and Kaidala, where ancient temples await. Marvel at the Jain temples in Shravanabelagola and the Hoysala temples in Kaidala. After, head back to Bangalore and get dropped off at the airport to start your journey home. Safe travels!
