Travel to the furthest frontiers of Russia and explore an incredible landscape of bubbling volcanos.

Explore Kamchatka on this thrilling 11-day guided tour of Russia’s far east. You’ll explore a vast, undiscovered wilderness that is usually only reached by helicopter.

Hike through a spectacular volcanic landscape filled with peaks, craters, glaciers, and hot springs. Watch rare birds and mammals in the wild. Meet indigenous people and learn how they live in this uncompromising environment.

You’ll visit Tolbachik in Central Kamchatka, which is home to two of the region’s active volcanoes and see how the land has been transformed by volcanic eruptions, lava flows, and huge ash clouds. The landscape here is so alien that the Russians used it to test their lunar vehicles.

You’ll trek to Mutnovsky, one of Kamchatka’s most interesting volcanoes, and watch the jets of steam, bubbling mud cauldrons and geysers. And you’ll raft down the unspoilt Bystraya River, watching out for sea eagles and brown bears scooping up salmon along the way.

The tour also includes a visit to a remote thermal hot spring, and the chance to spend time with the Evens, the indigenous people of the region, who are nomadic hunters and reindeer herders.
