Costa Rica Nature Escape Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in San Jose
Meet your transfer at the airport when you arrive in San Jose, and you’ll be whisked away to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon exploring at your leisure and try one of the many amazing restaurants for your first dinner in Costa Rica.

Day 2 Journey Through the Jungle to Tortuguero
Your day starts with a drive through the lush forests of Braulio Carrillo National Park. Then you’ll switch to a boat to get the rest of the way to your jungle lodge in Tortuguero National Park.
If you booked the luxury option this transfer will be a flight.

Day 3 Sea Turtles and Wildlife Adventure
Take a boat tour of the park to watch for birds and wildlife. After lunch, you’ll go into town and visit the sea turtle conservation museum. Learn about these amazing turtles and visit the beaches that act as a sea turtle nursery!

Day 4 Travel to San Gerardo de Dota
This morning you’ll say goodbye to your jungle lodge and catch a flight back to San Jose. From there you’ll be driven to the southern mountains and you’ll check in to your hotel in San Gerardo de Dota. Enjoy a quiet night in this picturesque community.

Day 5 Bird Watching in the Cloud Forest
Today you’ll head into the Cloud forest for a scenic birdwatching hike. Your guide will point out unique flora and fauna as you walk through the pristine wilderness.
You have the rest of the day to explore the foothills of the southern mountains.

Day 6 Transfer by Land and Water to Drake Bay
Enjoy a final breakfast in the beautiful valley before you get picked up for your transfer to the South Pacific lowlands. You’ll take a boat down the river to your hotel in Drake Bay.
After you’ve settled into the hotel you can go for a stroll along the beautiful golden beach and watch the sun go down.

Day 7 Nature Hike in Corcovado National Park
Have a quiet breakfast at this peaceful bay before you head out for the day. Today your guide will take you on a hike to discover the incredible biodiversity in Corcovado National Park. Look for birds, monkeys, and other wildlife while you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 8 Snorkeling at Cano Island
Today you’ll go on tour to Caño Island and spend the afternoon snorkelling at one of Costa Rica’s top spots for diving and snorkelling. After you’ve visited all of the underwater denizens you can also relax under the palms on the beautiful beach.

Day 9 Return to San Jose
Enjoy the morning at your leisure, maybe taking a final stroll along the beach before you have to depart Corcovado. You’ll be transferred to a small local airstrip for the flight back to San Jose.
Tonight, you can visit any of the incredible local restaurants and celebrate your amazing trip and the “pura vida” lifestyle!

Day 10 Tour Ends in San Jose
This morning you’ll enjoy your last cup of incredible Costa Rican coffee before you are picked up and brought to the airport in San Jose for your flight home.

This partially-guided nature tour in Costa Rica is run as either a private tour (luxury option) or group tour (standard and deluxe options) and the price depends on the class of tour booked.
The prices below are per person sharing a double room:

- Deluxe Tour: $3,100USD per person
- Luxury Tour: $3,850USD per person

- Standard tour uses 2 to 3-star hotels and lodges; Deluxe – 3 to 4-star hotels and lodges; and Luxury tour uses the best accommodation available at each location
- Standard tour provides shared transfers, Deluxe and Luxury tours provide private transfers, except for Tortuguero, where all the transfers are shared
- Luxury tour has local flights instead of long transfers, as outlined in the itinerary
- On Standard and Luxury tours all the activities are shared with other travellers, while Luxury tour provides private activities, except for Tortuguero, which is shared for all categories

You can choose the category of accommodations on this tour. If you choose the standard option you’ll stay in comfortable lodges and 2 to 3-star hotels. In the deluxe category the hotels are 3 and 4-star, and if you upgrade to the luxury option you’ll stay at the best hotel in each area. No matter which you choose all the accommodations are in great locations where you can fully enjoy the pristine nature that surrounds you.
In some cases, the accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other comparable accommodations.
