Dolomites Snowshoeing Adventure Itinerary

Day 1 Warmup Snowshoe in the Dolomites

You’ll meet your guide in the morning and travel together to Passo Giau. This is where you’ll strap on your snowshoes and begin your first snowy trek into the Dolomites! The gentle slopes and easy trail will be a nice warmup and will allow you to focus on the beautiful views that surround you.

At the end of the trail, the transfer will take you back to your accommodations in time for a nice welcome dinner.

Day 2 Explore the Andraz Valley

Today you’ll be adventuring out into the Andraz Valley for a beautiful snowshoe through the mountains. Your guide will teach you about the special environment and how the ecosystem survives in the winter as you discover the sleeping nature that surrounds you. Hike along the western side of Mount Pore and take in the stunning views over the Ladin valleys and the Marmolada and Sella mountains.

Day 3 Snowshoeing in the Laste Valley

Start today’s snowshoe from the mountain village of Laste. Journey through the quiet forests and to the open meadow of Malga Laste, where the open plains offer a beautiful sweeping view of Pelmo and Civetta. You’ll trek through the snow past a mountain hut to a viewpoint where you’ll have another view of beautiful Marmolada.

Day 4 Snowy Trek at the Foot of the Pelmo

This morning you’ll be dropped off in the Zoldo Valley, where you’ll be walking under the majestic gaze of the Pelmo. As you snowshoe from the town of Zoppe di Cadore, you’ll have beautiful views and the fantastic backdrop of Pelmo. The trail starts in the snowy forests, but soon you’ll be enjoying the open space of the meadows at the foot of the mountain.

Day 5 Hermitage and Evening Trek

Two exceptional outings await you today! Start with a trek to the Hermitage of the Romiti. The views of Marmarole, Antelao, and Cadore from this cliffside 18th-century building are incredible. Have a picnic lunch here before descending back into the Cadore Valley.

In the afternoon you’ll be driven to Pian dei Buoi to discover the beauty of the Dolomites in the evening light. Dinner will be at the mountain refuge, and then you’ll return to your accommodations.

Day 6 Views from the Costa della Spina Ridge

In the morning you’ll drive to Comelico to discover another beautiful Belluno valley. Today you’ll hike the spectacular Costa della Spina ridge, which offers amazing panoramic views of the Popera and Sappada mountains from 2000 meters. You’ll have dramatic views on either side of the ridge as you approach the mountains of Austria.

Day 7 Snowshoe trek from Val d’Oten

Your final snowshoe trek will be from Val d’Oten towards Col Negro. Start your exploration of the Marmarole group through another tranquil wooded area. Soon the trees will thin and you’ll be in the expanse of alpine meadows at 1900m above sea level. Dramatic views of Spalti di Toro and Marmarole surround you as you cross the blanket of snow.
