Discover the wildlife and rainforests in the amazing national parks of Costa Rica
Costa Rica has so many incredibly beautiful regions and national parks to explore that it’s hard to choose just one to see! The Rainforests of Costa Rica tour says that you don’t have to! The only thing you’ll have to choose is the class of accommodation and transportation.
This amazing tour starts with a lodge stay in Tortuguero, where you’ll explore the sandbar nurseries of the giant sea turtle. Then you’re off to spend some time exploring the rainforests to discover the plants and animals that live near the Arenal Volcano and in the Monteverde cloud forest. The tour ends with some free time in Manual Antonio, where you can relax and enjoy the beaches or explore the coastal rainforests of the park. This tour will show off all the pristine national parks at an easy pace with lots of time for you to enjoy the pure life, or “pura vida” as they say in Costa Rica.
When you arrive in beautiful Costa Rica, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transported to your hotel. You have the afternoon to explore San Jose and relax into the Costa Rican “pura vida” lifestyle.
Your journey to Tortuguero will be by land through the Braulio Carillo National Park, and then you’ll board a boat to travel the canals through the jungle to Tortuguero Park. You’ll have plenty of wildlife sighting opportunities on your way as you get your first taste of the jungle. If you booked the luxury option you’ll be flown to the lodge from San Jose.
Take a scenic boat tour of Tortuguero, where you can watch for wildlife and learn about the famous resident sea turtles.
In the afternoon you’ll go into town to visit the sea turtle conservation museum, where you’ll learn all about these amazing creatures and the efforts being made to protect them. You’ll even get to see the sea turtle nesting beaches!
Today you’ll be able to observe some more wildlife during your scenic boat transfer, followed by a land transfer to Arenal. If you booked the car rental option you’ll pick up your SUV rental in Guapiles. If you booked the luxury option a flight will bring you from Tortuguero to Arenal Volcano National Park.
On your first day in Arenal, you’ll have the morning to relax or explore at your leisure. Next, you’ll take an afternoon nature walk through the lush rainforest and learn about all the amazing plants and animals that live in Arenal Volcano National Park.
After your walk, you’ll visit the natural hot springs where you can soak in thermal pools.
Start the day with a boat ride on Arenal Lake for some incredible views of the Arenal Volcano. In the afternoon, you’ll appreciate the cool air of the cloud forest when you arrive in Monteverde. If you are doing the self-drive option you’ll take a scenic drive around the lake and then take the dirt road to Monteverde.
Your adventure today is in the Curicancha Private Reserve, where you’ll take a walk to look for native birds, including the amazing emerald and blue quetzals.
Tonight you can visit one of the many excellent local restaurants for a delicious dinner.
Leave the cloud forest behind and enjoy the scenery during your drive to the coast. During your stay in Manuel Antonia National Park, you’ll enjoy the endless beaches and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Keep your eyes on the trees and you’re likely to see some of the local monkey inhabitants before long!
Enjoy a relaxing few days at the beach, or spend your time exploring the amazing rainforests of the national park. There are many amazing options for additional excursions that you can take during your stay in Manuel Antonio if you prefer to keep busy.
Spend another amazing day relaxing in paradise! At the end of the day, you’ll want to watch the incredible sunset over the Pacific Ocean since it’s your last night at the beach.
Take your time to enjoy the incredible local coffee with breakfast. After a leisurely morning, you’ll start your journey back to San Jose. If you booked the luxury option, this will be a flight instead of a land transfer.
All too soon, it’s time to return home. You’ll either take the transfer to the airport or drive yourself there and drop off your rental at the airport.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
