Day 1 Arrival in Naples

Upon arriving in Naples, your guide will meet you and accompany you to the hotel in the city. Spend the afternoon and evening wandering these infamous Italian streets, picking an enticing restaurant for dinner.

Day 2 Hike the Path of the Seven Stones

On today’s route, you’ll experience a path that farmers used centuries ago. Known as “The Path of the Seven Stones,” this trek connects two beautiful villages in southern Italy: Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa. Explore these cliffside villages before receiving transport to Altamura, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 Murgia Archaeological Park

After breakfast in Altamura, the tour group goes to Belvedere, the starting point for the hike today. You’ll be awe-struck by the fascinating archaeology as you follow the trails through vast canyons and medieval churches carved into rocks, blending history and nature. Admire the Sassi di Matera at the entrance to Murgia Archaeological Park, which covers 677.39 square kilometres—you can opt to have a tour with an authorized cultural guide. You’ll have a free afternoon to wander about the visitor’s centres and learn why this area holds UNESCO recognition.

Day 4 Walking Tour of Alberobello

Walk throughout the classic countryside in Puglia today among olive groves and small villages. Pause to admire the unique architecture of the Trulli—small dry stone huts with conical roofs—found in Alberobello. You’ll see why this famous village is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the day’s stroll, you’ll be transferred to Monte Sant’Angelo for dinner and rest.

Day 5 Trek Vignanotica and Monte Sant’Angelo

There are two hikes on Day 5, so make sure to fuel up at breakfast. First, Vignanotica awaits with its iconic white beaches and glassy waters next to high white cliffs covered in Mediterranean vegetation. Be witness to panoramic views as you hike along paths overlooking the bays of Mergoli and Zagare on the way. In the afternoon, climb and explore the area of Monte Sant’Angelo, noting the classic tholos—typical dry stone structures recalling ancient Greek architecture.

Day 6 Explore Umbra Forest and Monte Sacro

Another full day with two excursions to hike around Puglia. In Gargano National Park, you’ll first visit the Umbra Forest. Wander through its enormous trees and network of trails and lakes—another Puglian area listed with UNESCO. The afternoon will have an air of mysticism as you meander about the ancient ruins of a Benedictine abbey in Monte Sacro. Nature and ancient history have a magical way of melding here.

On your last full day, you’ll be transferred to visit Vieste, a port town on the Adriatic Sea. After lunch, the tour returns to Naples, where you can spend the evening soaking up the last bits of Italian culture, gastronomy, and wine.
