Karni Mata Loop Trail
Hiking the Karni Mata Loop Trail is a fun experience on the edge of Ridgway State Park that will lead you uphill for views of the surrounding landscape. While out on the trail, you will meander through the forest along a lollipop trail, climbing up and looping around the forest for some amazing views that look out across nearby mountain peaks. Hikers should take note that this is a multi-use trail that is shared with mountain bikers, so make sure to keep an eye out for passing traffic and stay off to the side of the path.

Route Description for Karni Mata Loop Trail
If you want to take in some beautifully scenic views of the Colorado landscape while hiking along an easy-going multi-use trail, then you should check out the Karni Mata Loop Trail near Ridgway, Colorado. The terrain here isn’t very difficult, but offers just enough of a challenge to make this hike a good workout with exceptional views.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the southeast and cross over Alkali Creek, before turning to the north to begin climbing up the hillside. Here, you will enter into the cover of the forest and keep left along the trail to complete the loop portion of the hike in a clockwise direction. After reaching the top of the hill, you will enjoy some beautiful views of the surrounding area and distant mountains, before looping around through the forest to descend to the trailhead.

The Karni Mata Loop Trailhead can be found 7.4 km north of Ridgway along US-550.
