What we offer
Ditch the morning commute. You’ll join a fully remote team. You can work from your home, on the road, a local coffee shop, or anywhere else.
Make time for adventures.We understand that life is unpredictable, and while we work regular hours, we are flexible. That means you can take a weekday off for a great hike or finish up early to ski a great line.
Outdoor benefits. Throughout the year, we get great opportunities to try out free gear and discounted adventures around the world.
The best company meetings. While this has been severely impacted by COVID-19, join the rest of the team on cool outdoor adventures where we discuss big picture strategy and also just have fun. Previous trips include a weeklong hiking trip in Yosemite, a 5-day backpacking trip in Glacier National Park and a 4-day ski touring trip in Mount Assiniboine. How does that sound?
What type of person is most successful at 10Adventures?
Can Do, not Can’t Do. Working at a start-up presents the constant challenge to solve new problems that we haven’t solved before. If you love the idea of a full-time job of creating from scratch, have a positive attitude, handle adversity well, and believe that every problem can be solved, then you’ll like it here.
Do what you say you’re going to do. We believe it is important to meet our commitments. We ensure that when we promise we’ll get something done for another team member, we meet our commitments. You should be somebody who cares deeply about upholding your commitments to the rest of the team. This also means you should be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in written communication.
You take ownership. We believe start-ups should be lean and nimble. This means that each team member needs to own their work and productivity. We don’t have a team of managers overseeing what each of us does. The best team members handle their work with minimal oversight.
No Assholes. We hire kind, thoughtful people who want to succeed as a team, not focus on what’s best for them personally. We want teammates that can support and enable us to accomplish incredible things. We like low-conflict people, so if conflict is something that follows you around, then we’re not the right place for you.
You’re comfortable with uncertainty. Life in a start-up changes regularly, and we accept that uncertainty is normal. We don’t know exactly what we will be doing three years from now, as the only thing that is certain is change. What we do know is that if we produce high-quality work and delight our users and customers, the future will continue to bring interesting projects.
You work quickly. We don’t have time to make things perfect in a start-up. Furthermore, being nimble and quick to iterate is a huge advantage against our competitors. We highly value team members who can accomplish a lot in a short period of time. This is not a good job if you like to take things slowly.
You want to do something great.Most people are happy with being average. We are not. We want to change the adventure travel world. We are driven to succeed, and we take pride in succeeding against well-established competitors.
You want to prove yourself. We know that past jobs or where you went to school ultimately aren’t that important. What is important is that you are great at what you do. We want to work with people are supremely talented, and we want to show their skills off. This means instead of just looking at your resume, we want to see how you think and work. We send out a simple 1-hour test to all candidates we consider for an interview. This is your chance to show off!
