Route Description for Giant’s Head Drive

The Giant’s Head Climb is a fantastic cycling route in Summerland that will expose you to some truly beautiful views as you work your way uphill above the fruit orchard and stunning lakes in the area. Setting out from the yacht club in Summerland, you will make your way north along the shores of Okanagan Lake before heading west for a scenic climb uphill along Peach Orchard Road. After this brief bit of exercise, head south for the real uphill portion of your adventure, the climb up to the top of Giant’s Head. While this seems daunting, the grade is moderate and the route is paved, making for a pleasant ascent with truly beautiful views overlooking the surrounding landscape.

After reaching the top of the trail, feel free to pause for a few moments and take in the sweeping views across Okanagan Lake before making your way downhill on a fun descent back down to Giant’s Head Road. Instead of heading back along the same route that you came in on, turn right and make your way to the southeast, where you will eventually meet back up with BC-97. Follow this to the northwest for a beautifully scenic return leg of your ride along the western shore of Okanagan Lake.
