Route Description for Chess Valley and Cock Inn Walk
The Chess Valley and Cock Inn Walk begins from Cock Inn in Sarratt. This 4.8 km family-friendly circuit winds through meadows, riverside paths, and lovely woodland. It definitely grants the chance to breathe in fresh air and escape the bustle of crowded city streets. To top it off, you can sit back and relax with a refreshing pint in hand after this walk. Talk about a great morning or afternoon activity!
From the pub, you’ll walk toward Moor Lane, adjacent to River Chess. Continue to follow River Chess until the path forces you to cross the footbridge, taking you to Mount Wood. After the woods, continue straight to return to your car and Cock Inn, where refreshments await!
Getting to the Chess Valley and Cock Inn Walk Trailhead
To get to the start of the Chess Valley and Cock Inn Walk, head to Sarratt from Rickmansworth. Go to the A404 before turning right onto North Hill, which eventually morphs into New Road. Just after New Road curves left, you’ll see Cock Inn in Sarratt on your right, which is where your walk begins.
