Route Description for Ridge Loop Trail
The Ridge Loop Trail is a great family-friendly adventure in Colorado Springs. Characterized by the immense red-stone stone bluffs, blades, and sculptures, there is ample scenery and outcroppings to explore. This short loop trail reveals the best sights of the red rock outcroppings without spending too much time exploring the grounds. Note the exposed terrain can become unbearably hot in the summer months, so be sure to wear sun protection!
Your fun adventure along the Ridge Loop Hike departs from the trailhead off Juniper Way Loop. From here, hike across the road, hooking onto the Ridge Trail. This path will travel northwest through meadowlands before reaching an intersection. Here, keep right, and you will begin your circuit hike around the ridgeline of a rocky outcropping. Mind your footing on the uneven terrain as you revel in the sights of the Keyhole Window, Gray Rock, and Sleeping Giant bluffs.
Admire the grandeur of the immense sandstone sculptures, and the route will begin to curve southeast. As you wander back to the intersection, you will be granted views of the Front Range foothills that line the horizon. Retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead from the junction.
