Route Description for Sundance Loop
The Sundance Loop is a great adventure that presents the ideal opportunity to see wildlife as you venture around the scenic loop. Travel through mixed pine forests, aspen glades, and lush meadowlands. Unfortunately, the state park does not allow dogs, so you’ll have to leave your pup behind for this trek! Additionally, the Cheyenne Mountain State Park charges an entrance fee which typically costs about $9USD.
Embark on your adventure along the Sundance Loop Trail from the Zook Loop Trailhead. From here, hook onto the Sundance Loop Trail, heading southeast through the meadowlands. As you wander through the meadows, you will be granted sights of Cheyenne Mountain dominating the horizon in the west. Revel in the sights and continue trekking along the Sundance Loop, ignoring intersecting and merging paths. The route will weave between forestlands and meadows as it diverts east.
Eventually, you will reach the trail’s end. Here, hook onto the Zook Loop. Then, follow the Zook Loop Trail back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
