Route Description for Kit Hill Circular Walk
Whether you are a history buff looking to check out the barrows on site dating back thousands of years and the much more recent remnants of industrial mining operations, or are simply looking to get a bird’s eye view from a vantage point that dominates the landscape between Callington and the River Tamar, The Kit Hill Circular Walk is an excellent route that will be sure not to disappoint.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the southwest along the slopes of the hill to enjoy some nice views of the surrounding area, before making a sharp right along the trail in the direction of the summit.
After making the quick ascent of the hill, you will have a commanding view overlooking the landscape of southeast Cornwall, as well as the various man-made features that can be found on Kit Hill itself, including the iconic chimney at the summit. After experiencing the views, you will head to the east and begin your descent of the hillside on the way back to the car park where you began your walk.
