Route Description for Treloan to Towan Beach and Bohortha Walk
While it may be a little on the long side, the Treloan to Towan Beach and Bohortha Walk is a beautifully scenic adventure that caters to anyone who enjoys sandy beaches, winding rivers, and rugged stretches of coastal terrain.
Setting out from the trailhead in Treloan, you will make your way southeast towards the coast, and follow the water’s edge as it heads south while offering amazing views of the English Channel. After passing by Towan Beach, you will head west across the peninsula to meet a branch of the River Percuil, before following its banks to the south.
Along this portion of the walk, you will round the scenic terrain of St Anthony Head and take in views of its charming lighthouse and the city of Falmouth across the water. After making your way around the headland, you will make your way along the coast in a northeastern direction, passing by Porthbeor Beach and Killigerran Head in order to arrive back at Towan Beach. From here, you can simply retrace your steps along the initial part of your walk to return to your vehicle.
