Route Description for Bruno Gulch Trail
Adventure the Bruno Gulch Trail on your next trip to the Front Ranges. This hike is a moderate day hike through the dense Colorado woodlands. With limited elevation gain and well-maintained terrain, novice hikers and children alike should be able to manage this path. This route follows the curves of the Bruno Gulch Creek, so there are plenty of opportunities for you and your pup to rehydrate, just make sure to filter your water first!
Begin your journey up the Bruno Gulch Trail from the trailhead. Track west and the path will guide you beneath tree coverage. Hike through the mixed pine and aspen forest alongside the creek. Enjoy the relaxing ambiance of the babbling creek as you ascend the rocky path. A few breaks in the tree coverage will reveal vistas of Red Cone Mountain in the west. Enjoy the charming scenery as you ascend the forested route.
You will meet your adventure's end when you encounter the South Park Trail intersection. If you crave a longer journey, consider heading left onto the South Park Trail and summiting the Red Cone Mountain. Note this is a lengthy and steep add-on to your excursion, so make sure you have enough energy to make it there and back! When you are ready to return, retrace your steps along the path back to the trailhead.
