Route Description for Heart Lake Trail
The mosquitoes along Heart Lake Trail can be rather prolific depending on the time of year you are planning on doing the route. We therefore recommend bringing bug repellent and wearing both long sleeves and pants if you are planning on doing the route in the springtime.
Having arrived at the trailhead, follow the pathway as it heads east, crossing over Mammoth Creek almost immediately. The route will continue east as it gradually inclines in elevation. The Heart Lake Trail will then veer sharply to the north before turning south and traversing a hillside. The route will deliver you to Heart Lake where incredible views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed. Once you have had the opportunity to enjoy the sights, and perhaps stop for a picnic, backtrack your steps towards the trailhead.
