Ling Fell Walk

The Ling Fell Walk is a quick and easy adventure in the Lake District that will lead you up an easy to navigate path to a summit viewpoint. From the top of the fell, you will have a fantastic view of nearby Bassenthwaite Lake, as well as a number of fells to the east and south. Extend this short adventure by tacking on the loop leading to the summit of nearby Sale Fell.

Route Description for Ling Fell Walk
With picturesque Lake District views and fairly easy terrain, the Ling Fell Walk is a great option for beginner walkers and families travelling with kids. The trail sets out from the side of the road and climbs uphill along the rugged terrain of the moor to access the summit viewpoint at the top of Ling Fell. Take some time to appreciate the majestic views that sweep across Lakeland before continuing along the loop to arrive back at the trailhead in the valley below. As mentioned, this route can be extended by walking the trails leading up to the summit of Sale Fell to the northeast.
Getting to the Ling Fell Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Ling Fell Walk from Embleton, head east on Embletone for 0.2 km and continue straight onto Wythop Mill. After 1.0 km, make a slight right, followed by an immediate right. Continue on for 0.3 km and make a sharp right, following the road for 0.8 km to find the trailhead on the right.
