Route Description for Piru Creek Trail
The Piru Creek Trail is an easy-going adventure in the Los Padres National Forest that offers amazing scenery. Get out into the fresh air and reconnect with nature as you venture along the meandering stream. Note the terrain is rocky and slippery when wet, so mind your footing and take your time. Additionally, the creek is subject to seasonal fluctuation; exercise caution when the water is high and do not swim in the fast water.
Setting out from the trailhead, the Piru Creek Hike follows the Piru Creek southwestwardly. This scenic route will gradually descend into the canyon, gently undulating through the narrow-walled canyon. Mind your footing on the uneven terrain and enjoy the sounds of the gurgling waters. Eventually, the path will climb before plunging back to the creek bed, requiring you to cross over the waters.
Continue heading west on the opposite side of the valley, and you will eventually reach the route’s end. At this point, simply turn around and retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
