Route Description for Deems Hill Ridgeline
The Deems Hill Ridgeline is a scenic, fairly easy hike in the Deem Hills Recreation Area. This route leads you up to a nice viewpoint over the recreation area and the city, as well as the undeveloped land beyond. It’s a pretty hike that won’t take most groups very long to complete.
While this route is short, it’s rocky and there is some light climbing involved. Bring water with you and avoid hiking in the afternoons on hot days. You can bring a picnic or a book to enjoy in Deem Hills Park after your hike if you want.
From the trailhead, take Circumference Trail east between the two hills. The trail curves up to where the loop splits. Here, Stay right and then left, hiking along the base of the hill until the trail reaches up to the left, switchbacking to the top of the hill. Enjoy your view before continuing, descending gradually down to the base of the loop. From here, retrace your steps to the trailhead.
