Route Description for Knowlton’s Knob via The Miner’s Trail
The hike to Knowlton’s Knob via the Miner’s Trail is a gorgeous route in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This trail is moderately challenging with some steep climbs. Hikers should arrive prepared with proper, supportive hiking footwear, lots of snacks, and plenty of water. If you are hiking this route in the winter, we recommend bringing along a set of microspikes or snowshoes for extra traction. No matter what season you hike in, the diverse terrain and incredible views from this trail make a hike to Knowlton’s Knob via the Miner’s Trail a fantastic way to spend the day enjoying the beauty of the Utah wilderness.
From Burr’s Lane, follow the Mine Road south. Stay right at the first three divides. At the fourth divide, take a left to hike the last little section up to the top of Knowlton’s Knob.
At the top of Knowlton’s Knob, take a minute to catch your breath and enjoy the incredible views before turning around and retracing your steps back to Burr’s Lane, where you began.
Getting to the Knowlton’s Knob via The Miner’s Trail Trailhead
From Salt Lake City, head northeast along Emigration Canyon Road then take a left onto Burr’s Lane. Stay left at the fork and continue along Burr’s Lane to the Mine Road Trailhead. The hike to Knowlton’s Knob via the Miner’s Trail begins here.Route Information
