Route Description for South Willow Lake via Stansbury Crest Trail
The hike to South Willow Lake via the Stansbury Crest Trail is a beautiful route for experienced hikers. This hike is steep, so proper hiking footwear is required and hiking poles are recommended. A good chunk of this trail features snow well into the spring, so we recommend bringing along a set of traction devices to support your walk over the slippery sections. The South Willow Lake via Stansbury Crest Trail is dog-friendly with lots of shaded areas in the first half. Keep in mind that this is a strenuous hike that may not be appropriate for all pups. The views from this trail are absolutely gorgeous, and Willow Lake offers visitors peace, serenity, and beauty.
From the Mill Fork Trailhead, follow the path southwest for 1.1 km to a divide and take a right at the fork to follow the trail as it curves north. At the next divide, stay right and head north to an intersection of trails. Take the path on the left to hike the final section to South Willow Lake.
Take a rest on the shores of Willow Lake before turning around and following your footsteps back to the Mill Fork Trailhead.
Getting to the South Willow Lake via Stansbury Crest Trail Trailhead
From Grantsville, Utah, head southwest down Mormon Trail Road, then take a right onto South Willow Road. Continue to the end of South Willow Road and park at the Mill Fork Trailhead, the South WIllow Lake via Stansbury Crest Trail begins here.Route Information
