Route Description for Cross Mountain Trail
For those adventurers who enjoy hiking through wonderfully atmospheric forests and taking in views of nearby peaks without the challenge of actually climbing them, the Cross Mountain Trail will be the perfect route.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northwest alongside the banks of Lizard Creek, where you will quickly enter into the cover of the forest. Here, you will get a good leg burn as you work your way uphill while taking in the relaxing woodland atmosphere.
Eventually, you will break free of the tree cover underneath the magnificent sight of Lizard Head. Continue along the trail as it heads east below the looming mountain peak, enjoying the wonderful mountain scenery before arriving at the endpoint of the route. Here, you will simply turn back and descend the mountainside on the return to the trailhead.
