Route Description for Inspiration Point Loop Trail
If you are looking to stick pretty close to town but still want the leg-burning challenge and beautiful views of the mountains, then you should definitely check out the Inspiration Point Loop Trail in Creede, Colorado.
Setting out from the trailhead just beyond the junk cars on E 7th Street, you will begin climbing up the steep hillside in a northeast direction. The majority of this hiking route is exposed to the sun, so make sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water. After the initial push uphill, keep left at the fork in order to arrive at a scenic viewpoint overlooking Creede.
As you continue climbing uphill, you will pass through a lightly forested stretch of terrain and begin looping around the upper portion of the trail while taking in some lovely views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Eventually, you will meet back up with your initial path and follow it back downhill on the return into the trailhead where you started.
