Route Description for Wright Lake Hike
If you are after a short hike in the mountains that will produce some nice alpine scenery, then the Wright Lake Hike is a great option. Even still, hikers should be warned that this route does follow an off-road vehicle path, so be sure to keep an eye out for passing vehicles.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the west on a route that runs parallel to nearby Sneffels Creek, following along the road as it climbs gently uphill through the alpine terrain. Take your time and appreciate the views of nearby peaks like Mount Sneffels and Gilpin Peak, before breaking off from the road on a footpath that will lead you directly up to the lake, rather than traversing a series of switchbacks.
After a short hike through some rugged terrain, you will arrive at the serene shores of Wright Lake and take in the beautifully scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Once you have explored the area, you can simply head back along the same route to return to your vehicle.
