Route Description for Schnebly Hill and Munds Mountain Trail
Schnebly Hill and Munds Mountain Trail is an awesome adventure with plenty of Sedona’s classic red sandstone scenery to see. This hike delivers when it comes to the views, but it’s a bit longer and is shared by off-road traffic. Hike carefully.
Additionally, make sure you’re well prepared for the desert sun with plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat if you’re hiking between May and October. This route can get closed for snow in the winter, so we don’t recommend trying to hike it between December and February.
Starting from the trailhead, you’ll be on Munds Wagon Trail, which closely follows Schnebly Hill Road for a stretch. You’ll head up alongside Merry Go Round and climb atop the plateau beside Munds Mountain. Crossing a short ridge between the two, you’ll turn around from the Munds Mountain summit and retrace your steps to the trailhead.
