Route Description for Skywalker, Old Post, and Herkenham Loop
The Skywalker, Old Post, and Herkenham Loop is a fun trail with lots of variety. It’s a convenient trail if you’re staying in the hotel near the trailhead, but it’s worth the drive for others in Sedona, too. This route is fairly relaxed and offers a bit of shade.
Watch for mountain bikes on this trail. We recommend hiking counterclockwise so you can see them coming. Watch your footing as well since some of the trail is quite rocky.
From the trailhead, head right on Herkenham Trail. At the 4-way junction, stay left onto Old Post Trail. Stay left to stay on Old Post. At the next junction, take another left onto Skywalker Trail. You’ll loop around past the hotel and back towards the high school, where the hike ends.
