Route Description for Templeton Trail
Templeton Trail is a fantastic pick for its view of Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. Getting you right up close to Sedona’s most recognizable sandstone rock formation, it’s got plenty of reward for a fairly moderate hike. Note that this route gets quite hot, so bring lots of water if you’re hiking between May and October.
Beginning near the Bell Rock Trailhead, take the trail that heads north closer to the road. You’ll follow the creek (which may or may not have any water in it depending on the time of year and weather) across the road, where you’ll keep left onto Templeton Trail. Cross the other side of the road and then stay right. Go straight through the junction with Slim Shady Trail and then hug the base of Cathedral Rock all along the northern side.
The route ends just past Cathedral Rock near the creek. Soak your feet if you need to cool off, then retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
