Route Description for Packrat and Passey Loop Trail
The Packrat and Passey Loop Trail is a relaxing, scenic hike that begins in Sanctuary Cove and leads you into Saguaro National Park West. This route is never very busy and it provides lovely views of the saguaros and the hills. It’s perfect for a chill morning hike.
Sanctuary Cove closes at sunset so get your hike in before then or you’ll have to find alternative parking. Additionally, this route is rocky in some parts, so sturdy boots will be a good choice if you have them.
From Sanctuary Cove, take W Staggs Road to N Scenic Drive and take a right. You’ll cross into the park and hike to where the loop splits. Go left here onto Packrat Trail, then take a left onto Passey Loop Trail. Follow this as it takes a right and loops past the far edge of the park. Say right and then left, which will get you onto the trail bound once again for the road. Follow the road back to Sanctuary Cove.
