The Hermit Falls to Sturtevant Falls Loop Hike is a wonderfully scenic adventure in the Angeles National Forest that features several stunning waterfall viewpoints. While out on the trail, you will follow Big Santa Anita Creek to the cascading waters of Hermit Falls, before turning back to the north to follow the water’s edge to the impressive sight of Sturtevant Falls. Make sure to have your adventure pass visible in your car prior to beginning your hike.
Route Description for Hermit Falls to Sturtevant Falls Loop Hike
Anyone with a love for waterfalls will be sure to enjoy the spectacular views along the Hermit Falls to Sturtevant Falls Loop Hike. Although the window for this hike is fairly large, try heading out earlier in the season to take in the natural beauty of the falls at their peak! Setting out from the Chantry Flats parking lot, you will make your way east and follow the path as it leads further down into Big Santa Anita Canyon. Here, you will meet up with the banks of Big Santa Anita Creek and follow it south to arrive at the viewpoint for Hermit Falls. After taking in the views, you will backtrack to the north and continue along the edge of the creek to work through the canyon. Here, you will cross over the creek several times, before eventually arriving at the cascading waters of Sturtevant Falls. Take some time here to appreciate the tranquil setting, before following the trail southwest on the return to the parking lot.Getting to the Hermit Falls to Sturtevant Falls Loop Hike Trailhead
