The Little Jimmy Springs Hike is a great family-friendly adventure in the Angeles National Forest that climbs uphill to a camp near Mount Islip. While out on the trail, you will gain a moderate amount of elevation and some beautiful SoCal views, as you work your way into the mountains to reach the Little Jimmy Campground. Make sure to pop into the nearby ranger station to pick up a trail map, and also to display an adventure pass in your vehicle.
Route Description for Little Jimmy Springs Hike
Whether you are planning on camping in the Southern California wilderness for a few days, or simply want to get outdoors for a scenic day-hike, the Little Jimmy Springs Hike is a wonderful excursion that the entire family will be sure to love. Setting out from the trailhead on Crystal Lake Road, you will follow the Windy Gap Trail as it leads north and begins climbing uphill. Here, the trail will turn to the east, before bending back to the north for a relatively steep uphill climb to reach the top of a ridge. At the three-way junction, you will pass straight through and follow the trail as it loops through the forest around the Little Jimmy Springs and Little Jimmy Campground. Eventually, you will arrive back at the junction and follow your initial path back downhill to return to the trailhead and complete your hike.Getting to the Little Jimmy Springs Hike Trailhead
