Travel through the meadow-cloaked path to the Wonderland Lake Trail. How could it not be an incredible walk with a name like that? The exposed terrain reveals expansive views of the encompassing wilderness, but it also warrants unbearably hot conditions on summer afternoons, so make sure you head out early and pack water! Additionally, when hiking in the summer months, be sure to keep an eye and ear out for rattlesnakes!

Embark on your adventure along the Wonderland Lake Loop via Foothills Trail from the Foothills South Trailhead. From here, track south along the Foothills South Trail, over the Fourmile Canyon Creek. Shortly after your departure from the trailhead, hikers will be guided past a dog park before delivering you to Wonderland Lake. At the intersection, keep right, and you will be diverted onto the Wonderland Lake Trail.

Hike this path along the shoreline of the shimmering waters of Wonderland Lake. Ignore intersecting and merging paths until you reconnect with the Foothills South Trail. When you re-encounter this path, keep right and retrace your footing along this route all the way back to the trailhead.
