Route Description for Wonderland Lake Trail
The Wonderland Lake Hike is a charming nature walk conveniently located in Boulder. Blow off some steam, step away from the devices and reconnect with nature as you wander along the beautiful, accessible, grassland path. The exposure of the path exposes expansive views, but it also warrants hot conditions in the summer months, so be sure to pack plenty of water and sunscreen! Additionally, when hiking in the summer, be mindful of rattlesnakes and keep an eye and ear out for them as you trek.
Begin your journey around the Wonderland Lake Trail from the trailhead. From here, track west along the Wonderland Lake Trail until you meet an intersection. Here, keep right and begin hiking counterclockwise along the meadow-laden path. Soon the route will divert you briefly along Utica Avenue before reconnecting with the shoreline. As you hike through the grasslands enjoy the view of the shimmering waters and the ridge looming in the west.
Follow the route along the shoreline all the way back to the initial intersection. From here, turn right and retrace your footing back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
