While the route may be tough, the breathtaking views that spread out as far as the eye can see are well worth the effort… as long as you catch them on a fair weather day.
Route Description for Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ Walk
If you are looking for a lengthy route that will take you into the thick of the highlands for some amazingly scenic views overlooking Cairngorms National Park, then the Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ Walk will be an ideal adventure. This stunning 23.8 km route will take you across several rugged peaks, most notably Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ, so prepare for a bit of a leg burn by the end of your day on the trails.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the northwest alongside Glen Lochsie Burn and follow its winding banks in between the dramatic mountains on either side of you. Eventually, you will break off to the north and begin the steep climb up to the summit of Glas Tulaichean, where you will enjoy incredible views of the undulating terrain as it spreads out in every direction.
From the top of this magnificent peak, you will head downhill to the northwest and traverse a charming valley, before climbing uphill once again to the summit of the slightly lower Carn an Righ. After taking in the views, make your way to the east across the valley floor, where you will eventually reach the serene shores of Loch nan Eun. From here, you will be able to use Allt Easgaidh as your guide, following it to the southeast until you arrive back at the trailhead where you started your adventure.
