Route Description for Marlow-on-Thames Walk
The Marlow-on-Thames Walk is a gentle, family-friendly hike that has you travelling along a path with low elevation alongside River Thames and through meadows. You won’t have to navigate stiles—only kissing gates, which is a bonus. Areas of the path can get muddy after rain, so consider the proper footwear before you go. To top it off, dogs will love swimming in the river!
The walk begins from the junction for High Street and Institute Road. From here, you’ll take a right onto High Street to start your 5.8 km loop. When you turn left on West Street, take a moment to think about the two literary greats who lived here: Mary Shelley and T.S. Eliot. Eventually, you’ll turn onto the Thames Path, where great views of the river await. Expect a mixture of pavement mixed with muddy and wet terrain as you make your way around this circuit.
