Route Description for Black and Blue Loop
Immerse yourself in nature and let the fresh air fill your lungs as you venture the Black and Blue Loop Trail. This amazing trek exhibits the diversity and beauty of the Colorado wilderness that just steps away from the city. Enjoy sights of the cityscape in the east and mountain views in the west; I mean, what more could you ask for? The terrain is slippery after rainfall so mind your footing on the smooth rocks.
The Black and Blue Loop departs from the trailhead off South Rockrimmon Boulevard. From here, keep right, hiking along the Black and Blue Loop Trail. This section of the path will guide hikers through meadowlands, curving southwest into more rocky terrain. As you venture further, the route will become increasingly forested, exposing the odd view of the mountain range. Follow the route southeast along the ridge to the easternmost section of the park.
Eventually, the path will divert you northwest, back through more exposed terrain. Follow this route all the way back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
