The Helen Hunt Falls Loop is an awesome adventure near Colorado Springs that’s beauty is unparalleled. Immerse yourself in verdant woodlands decorated with granite outcrops on your way to the mesmerizing falls. Sections of the route are rocky and uneven, so we highly suggest a pair of sturdy footwear! Additionally, segments are unmarked, so consider bringing along the trail GPS to easily navigate the terrain! Note that part of this hike travels along a road open to vehicle traffic; if you wish to avoid this, consider making this trek an out-and-back experience.
Embark on your adventure along the Helen Hunt Falls Loop from North Cheyenne Canyon Road trailhead. From here, head north along the connector trail up to the Columbine Trail. Here, take the leftmost section of the Columbine Trail, heading north through a granite garden and pine forest. This path will divert you southwest, revealing epic views of the mountainous landscape and the valley below. At the next intersection, stay left and hike down to the North Cheyenne Canyon Road. Hike west along this route up to the Helen Hunt Falls.
Revel in the sights of the mesmerizing cascades and when you are ready, retrace your steps along the North Cheyenne Canyon Road, taking a detour over the North Cheyenne Creek and back onto the road. Hike along the road back to the trailhead, marking the end of your adventure.
