Route Description for Kinnickinnick Trail
The Kinnickinnick Trail is an awesome nature walk near the city center. A perfect urban escape into the fresh air, you will be rewarded with awe-inspiring scenery and views of the Front Range as you get your daily steps in. Note that this path is uneven and rocky and in sections, so we suggest sturdy footwear to avoid a rolled ankle. Additionally, there are several paths within the park, so a trail GPS may prove useful, but no worries, if you get off track simply explore another route!
Your trek along the Kinnickinnick Trail begins from the South Kroll picnic area. From here, head west along the Kinnickinnick Trail. This path will guide you into the mixed pine forests before diverting you south. As you wander south, you will be rewarded with the odd sight of the Front Range peaks in the west through the tree breaks. Eventually, the path will guide you down to the Council Grounds picnic area.
Soon the path will curve you north, back up to the South Kroll picnic area. If you still have some gas left in the tank, then feel free to explore further. If not, this marks the end of your scenic adventure in Palmer Park.
