Route Description for Scotsman Loop Hike
The Scotsman Loop is an awesome hike through the Garden of the Gods. Explore the terrain adorned with unique outcroppings and distant vistas of the Front Range foothills. A famous landmark in Colorado Springs, this park attracts outdoor enthusiasts from all over, so you will likely have to share the path. If you seek a more secluded experience, consider an early morning weekday adventure to beat the crowds! Additionally, the terrain is uneven in spots, so wear sturdy footwear and mind your footing. Finally, though not necessary, a trail GPS may prove useful as there are several route changes.
Your trek along the Scotsman Loop Hike begins from the Balanced Rocks Parking lot. From here, northeast along the shoulder of Garden Drive, before merging onto the Cabin Canyon Trail. Hike this path northeast, connecting with the Siamese Twins Trail at the next intersection. Soon you will merge onto the Scotsman Trail, trekking north through the garden and onto the Central Garden Trail to the Sentinel Spires. From here, retrace your footing back to an intersection with the Scotsman Trail.
At this point, you will take the leftmost Scotsman Trail, past the Scotsman Rock, and onto the Strausenbach Trail. Soon you will reconnect with the Cabin Canyon Trail. From here, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
