Route Description for Altarnun and West Moor Walk
If you are looking to experience the picturesque scenery of Cornwall, with its charming villages, open fields, and expansive moors, then you will certainly want to explore the trails along the Altarnun and West Moor Walk.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way through the village of Altarnun in a southwestern direction to reach another village called Trewint. From here, your direction will turn to the west along a road, as you traverse the undulating landscape along the slopes of Trewint Tor.
After passing by the hill, you will loop around the barren terrain of West Moor, reaching the southwesternmost point of the route near The Beacon. From here, you will begin making your way across the moor and open farmlands to the northeast, following the trail until it meets up with a road. At this point, you will follow the road east, as it traverses the picturesque Cornish countryside on the return to the village of Altarnun where you began.
