Route Description for Coombe to Portreath Walk
Featuring a good variety of easy going terrain and some scenic views of the Cornish countryside, the Coombe to Portreath Walk is a great option if you are looking to get out onto the trails for a good bit of exercise. This route will see you traverse tranquil forests, wide open fields, and take in some amazing views of the sea, which makes it great for a relaxing day on the trails.
Setting out from the trailhead in Coombe, you will make your way to the northeast and enter into the dense cover of the trees. This initial portion of the trail will see you make your way through Tehidy Wood, so take your time to appreciate the natural beauty of this tranquil forest setting.
After making your way through the most dense part of the forest, you will continue through the trees alongside the Tehidy Park Golf Club, before eventually exiting the forest. At this point, you will pass by several fields on your right and another golf course on your left, as you descend a small hillside into the village of Portreath. Here, you will make your way through the village until you arrive at the endpoint of the walk near the water’s edge, where you will enjoy some lovely views looking out onto the sea.
