    Route Description for South West Coast Path: Padstow to Mawgan Porth

    Featuring breathtaking coastal highlights, such as secluded coves, dramatic cliffs, and sandy beaches, the South West Coast Path: Padstow to Mawgan Porth is a fantastic way to explore and experience the beauty of the Cornwall coast. This section of the famous South West Coast Path is one of the longer ones, and while it doesn’t feature overly challenging terrain, the overall distance often causes walkers to split it up into a multi-day journey. No matter how you decide to attack this scenic trail, it is sure to be a memorable experience.

    Setting out from the trailhead at the Padstow ferry crossing, head towards the north along the coast to walk around Stepper Point, where you will enjoy stunning views that sweep out across the blue expanse of the ocean. From here, the trail will bend to the southwest and skirt around several coves and bays before working around Trevose Head.

    At this point, you will continue to make your way south through the Cornwall AONB, before arriving at the beautiful beach at Porthcothan. This is a fantastic place to lay out in the sun and enjoy the picturesque seaside atmosphere. Once you have passed the beach, keep walking south along the undulating terrain of the coast to eventually arrive at the end point of the walk at another beach, Mawgan Porth.

    Getting to the South West Coast Path: Padstow to Mawgan Porth Trailhead

    To access the South West Coast Path: Padstow to Mawgan Porth trailhead from the Padstow Museum, head north on Riverside for 0.3 km and continue straight onto S Quay for 63 m. Make a right onto The Strand and follow it for 68 m before making another right onto N Quay Parade. You will reach the trailhead in 0.2 km.
