Route Description for Abbeyford Woods Circular Walk
If the main goal of your excursion is to forget about the outside world and relax while being surrounded by nature, then the Abbeyford Woods Walk is the perfect route for you. Setting out from the car park, you will head to the northeast through the forest and walk along the winding backs of the River Okement. Take some time to appreciate the natural beauty of the riverside setting before climbing uphill to the west. Here, the route will bend to the south and lead you through the tranquil expanse of the forest, as you work your way back to the trailhead where you started.
Getting to the Abbeyford Woods Circular Walk Trailhead
To get to the trailhead for the Abbeyford Woods Circular Walk from Okehampton, drive northwest on Link Road for 0.5 km and turn right onto North Road, following it for 0.5 km. Turn left here and continue on for 0.3 km to find the car park on the right.
