    The South West Coast Path: Sidmouth to Exmouth is a beautifully scenic portion of a much longer route that leads you along the Devon coast to experience the gorgeous landscapes that can be found in the region. While out on this one-way trail, you will travel between the towns of Sidmouth and Exmouth, experiencing the beautiful scenery of the English Channel and rugged coastal terrain that can be found along the way. There is a bit of elevation gain on the route; however, the trail is very easy to follow, making it suitable for a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts.

    Route Description for South West Coast Path: Exmouth to Sidmouth

    Although it only makes up a small portion of the South West Coast Path, the Sidmouth to Exmouth segment is a fantastic point-to-point trail for a wide variety of walkers, as it features some slightly challenging terrain with gorgeous views of the water. As this is a fairly lengthy one-way trail, be sure to arrange a pick up at the end of the route or plan your travel beforehand in order to get back to your vehicle. Setting out from the trailhead in Sidmouth, you will make your way to the southwest, passing by Connaught Gardens on the way to climbing up the cliffside. Here, you will follow along the rugged terrain of the coast as it leads you southwest and provides stunning views across the English Channel. After crossing the River Otter and passing by Budleigh Salterton, you will make the final push along the trail to reach the terminus of the route in Exmouth.

    Getting to the South West Coast Path: Exmouth to Sidmouth Trailhead

    To access the South West Coast Path: Sidmouth to Exmouth trailhead from Sidford, head southwest on Sidford Road/A375 for 2.6 km and take the first exit at the roundabout onto High Street. Follow this for 0.5 km, where you will find parking along The Esplanade.
