Jimmy Russel to Hoodoo View Loop
The Jimmy Russel to Hoodoo View Loop is an awesome 3.9 km lollipop trail near Kimberley, BC, that takes you into the Kimberley Nature Park and provides some nice views of the nearby Purcell Mountains. The trail is well-maintained and accessible enough for most types of hikers. Make sure to bring your canine friends along for some exercise, as this is a dog-friendly trail; however, you should always keep a close eye on them, as black bears are sometimes spotted in the area.

Route Description for Jimmy Russel to Hoodoo View Loop
Hiking the Jimmy Russel to Hoodo View Loop is a fun way to spend an afternoon in the Kimberley area due to easily navigable trails and beautiful scenery. The trail sets out from the Kimberley Riverside Campground and heads north before turning west at the junction to split off on a small loop through the forest. Along the trail, you will have some views of nearby hoodoos and the Purcell Mountains to the northwest. The second half of the route heads into a stretch of dense forest, making it more of a nature trail than a sight-seeing expedition. Once you have completed the loop, head down the initial stretch of trail to return to the parking area at the campground.
Getting to the Jimmy Russel to Hoodoo View Loop Trailhead
To access the trailhead for the Jimmy Russel to Hoodoo View Loop from Kimberley, head to the southeast along BC-95A for 4.0 km and make a right turn on St Marys Lake Road. Turn left after 2.8 km to enter the parking area at the Kimberley Riverside Campground. You can find the trailhead across the road to the north.
