Silver Springs Trail

The Silver Springs trail is a 1.8 km out-and-back hiking route near Elko, BC, that will take you through the forest to the pristine waters of Silver Spring Lake. Here, hikers can explore the area around the lake or simply relax by the water and watch adventurous cliff jumpers vault themselves into the water. Hikers looking to extend their hike can continue along the trail to the south to visit two smaller lakes nestled further into the canyon.

Route Description for Silver Springs Trail
The hike to Silver Spring Lake is only a short adventure, but once you arrive at the serene edge of the water, you will be glad that you made the trip. Popular in the summertime as a swimming and cliff jumping destination, you will have the opportunity to do both if you are feeling a bit on the adventurous side; otherwise, you can simply spend the afternoon exploring or relaxing by the water’s edge.
The trail sets out from the parking area and travels initially down a forest service road before turning south through the heavy tree cover on a route towards the lake. After a short distance, you will break out of the forest canopy and arrive at the beautifully scenic Silver Spring Lake. From here, you can explore the area and hike further into the canyon to visit two smaller lakes or enjoy yourself by spending the day by the lake. After you’ve wrapped up your adventure, head back along the same route to return to your vehicle.
Getting to the Silver Springs Trail Trailhead
To get to the trailhead for Silver Springs from Elko, drive northeast along River Forest Service Road for 3.4 km and turn right to enter the parking area.
