Ditch Trail
The Ditch Trail is a great hiking route in Snowmass Village, Colorado that will lead you along a winding creek for views of the surrounding mountains. While out hiking the trail, you will pass through some intermittent forest cover and cross several ski runs, before hiking alongside East Snowmass Creek and enjoying the views of the surrounding landscape. This is an excellent route that is suitable for a wide range of ages and skill levels.

Route Description for Ditch Trail
If you plan on visiting Snowmass Village during the summer months, then you should certainly check out the Ditch Trail. This fun hike will provide a different perspective of the area when compared to the snow-covered ski slopes of winter.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will follow along the Ditch Trail as it leads to the southwest and passes through some light forest cover. Here, you will alternate between passing through the woodland landscape and the open clearings that serve as ski runs during the winter.
Eventually, the trail will turn more to the south and begin climbing slightly further uphill, before arriving at the banks of East Snowmass Creek. Following the water’s edge to the south, you will continue further uphill through the tree cover and enjoy some nice views of the surrounding area, before heading back along the same route for the return.
Getting to the Ditch Trail Trailhead
The starting point for the Ditch Trail can be found at the junction of Divide Road and Divide Drive, just west of Snowmass Village.
