Route Description for Gold Digger to Two Spot Loop
The Gold Digger to Two Spot Loop is a pretty hike near Rogers Lake, which is actually more of a large basin that occasionally fills with water. Imposter lake or not, it’s quite scenic when it’s full as it attracts lots of birds and animals to the area. This hike is moderately difficult, leading you through the forest to viewpoints of the mountains in the distance. It sees very little traffic, so enjoy the peace and quiet.
This route is quite rocky, so solid boots are a better choice over sneakers. If you can time your hike for the spring when there’s water in the basin, we recommend it.
From the trailhead, bear right onto Gold Digger. Enjoy a warm-up on mostly flat terrain, which gives way to a slightly more inclined stretch to come near the base of Woody Mountain. Take a moment to appreciate Woody Mountain, then continue your loop around, now headed back in the direction of the trailhead. Descend gradually through the woods with a lake view (hopefully), returning to the trailhead on Two Spot.
