Route Description for Discovery Trail
The Discovery Trail is a popular urban hiking route in Abbotsford, BC that connects multiple city parks and allows hikers to explore some unique sections of the city. Popular with families, runners, and hikers of all skill levels, this trail sets out from Gardner Park and passes through the beautifully scenic Fishtrap Creek Park before looping around Exhibition Park. You can shorten your route by turning back whenever you’re satisfied with your distance.
There is little elevation gain along the route, making it an ideal route for families and a variety of other activities, such as cycling. This 12.4 km loop trail offers an exciting way to get out for some exercise and experience the natural beauty of Abbotsford.
Getting to the Discovery Trail Trailhead
To reach the Discovery Trail parking area in Gardner Park from central Abbotsford, drive west on S Fraser Way for 3.3 km until it turns into Peardonville Road. In 400 m, turn right onto Livingstone Avenue, where you will find the parking area on your right in 950 m.
