Layser Cave Trail
Layser Cave Trail is a quick jaunt to a cave in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Interpretive signs explain the cave’s use and significance to Indian peoples years prior. The hike is very short at just 0.6 km long and is suitable for all skill levels. The view of Mount Adams on a clear day is an extra perk on this trail.

Route Description for Layser Cave Trail
Layser Cave has an interesting history to discover, and curious hikers can crouch down to see into the cave from the wide mouth. The trail to the cave is very short and quite easy, making it an easy trip for all skill levels and ages. The view of Mount Adams is another perk on this hike.
Beginning from the trailhead, take the obvious trail heading south. You’ll descend gently before curving right to the mouth of the cave. Read the interpretive signs and check out Mount Adams. You can take a few steps into the cave if you’re curious.
When you’re ready, retrace your steps up the hill back to the parking lot.
